Burrows Racing - Snetterton Moto 4 Cup Report

Burrows Racing - Snetterton Moto 4 Cup Report

Burrows Engineering / RK Racing enjoyed another highly successful weekend at Round 3 of the British Moto4 Cup, held at Snetterton as part of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship.

Jack continued his impressive run of form to claim a podium and a 4th place.

The weekend got off to the perfect start on Friday as Jack quickly settled back onto the Moto4 Honda. The focus throughout the two free practice sessions was completing plenty of laps on used tyres, ending up 3rd on combined timesheets.

Saturday morning’s qualifying session saw Jack secure an excellent third place on the grid for Race 1, just 0.2 seconds shy of pole position.

Race 1 on Saturday afternoon proved to be an absolute thriller, with Jack locked in an intense battle at the front alongside Jack Dunabie and Ryan Frost throughout all 12 laps. The trio exchanged positions repeatedly in a race that went right down to the wire. Jack produced another fantastic ride to secure third place, claiming his fifth podium finish of the season and crossing the line just 0.1 seconds behind the race winner.

With the second race grid determined by Race 1 fastest laps, Jack had work to do on Sunday after lining up eighth on the grid. He wasted little time carving his way through the second group before setting his sights on the leading trio. Once in clear air, Jack produced a stunning charge, breaking the Moto4 lap record as he closed the gap to the leaders.

After catching the front group, Jack fought his way into contention and led the race on several occasions in another breathtaking 12-lap contest. Heading into the final corner, he was running fourth but launched an ambitious move for third place. Unfortunately, after making the pass, the rear of the bike stepped out, compromising his drive onto the long run to the finish line. Despite the disappointment of narrowly missing out on another podium, Jack crossed the line in fourth after an outstanding recovery ride from eighth on the grid.

Leaving Snetterton with third and fourth place finishes, multiple laps led and a new Moto4 lap record, there are plenty of positives for Jack and the Burrows Engineering / RK Racing team. The weekend’s results leave Jack just 20 points behind the championship leader, with plenty of racing still to come. At only Round 3 of the season, the title fight is far from over, and the team is confident they can continue this momentum heading into Round 4 at Brands Hatch in a fortnight’s time.

The team would like to extend their sincere thanks to all the Burrows Engineering / RK Racing personnel for their hard work throughout the weekend. Special thanks also go to Richard Keith and Alan from Mortimer Racing for their invaluable technical support.

Finally, a huge thank you to all of Jack’s and the team’s supporters. The backing received from Northern Ireland, across Ireland and from fans further afield continues to be incredible. Every like, comment and message over race weekends is greatly appreciated and provides fantastic motivation as the season continues.
