Burrows Racing - Brands Hatch Moto 4 British Cup Report

Burrows Engineering / RK Racing enjoyed another successful weekend as Jack Burrows secured a superb double podium during Round 4 of the R&G British Moto4 Cup at Brands Hatch.

Arriving at Brands Hatch full of confidence following a strong outing at Snetterton, Jack and the team were determined to continue their momentum.

Friday’s two free practice sessions were used productively, with Jack completing both outings on used tyres as the team focused on reacquainting themselves with the challenging Brands Hatch circuit while gathering valuable data and refining the bike setup ahead of qualifying. At the end of Friday’s running, Jack sat sixth overall, leaving the team confident that further improvements could be made overnight alongside the boys at Mortimer Racing.

Saturday morning’s qualifying session saw those changes pay off. Jack produced his fastest-ever lap of Brands Hatch to secure fifth place on the grid aboard his Honda, just 0.3 seconds shy of pole position, putting him firmly in contention for the weekend’s races.

Race One on Saturday afternoon delivered exactly what British Moto4 fans have come to expect—14 laps of non-stop action from lights to flag. Jack remained calm in the thick of the battle, positioning himself perfectly heading onto the final lap before crossing the line in an excellent third place to claim his first podium finish of the weekend.

Sunday’s Feature Race proved even more dramatic.

Starting once again from fifth on the grid, Jack made a strong launch before an early missed gear resulted in the rider behind making contact with the rear of his machine. The incident dropped Jack back to ninth place, leaving him with a huge challenge ahead.

What followed was a determined ride that showcased Jack’s character and fighting spirit. Refusing to give up, he carved his way back through the field, setting the fastest lap of the race at the time as he hunted down the leading group. In a breathtaking final-lap battle and another drag race to the finish line, Jack once again secured third place, completing a fantastic double podium weekend for Burrows Engineering / RK Racing.

While both podiums were equally hard-earned, Sunday’s result was particularly special for the team after watching Jack fight back from ninth position to return to the front of the race. His determination, pace and refusal to give in perfectly demonstrated the character that continues to make him one of the standout riders in the British Moto4 Championship.

A huge thank you goes to every member of the Burrows Engineering / RK Racing team, everyone at Mortimer Racing, Victoria House, and to all of the supporters both back home and around the circuits who have continued to cheer Jack on throughout the weekend. Your support never goes unnoticed.
